It is estimated that in one year over 750,000 tons of waste wood is produced in the UK by industries that focus on construction and demolition, as well as 670,000 tons of waste wood that is produced from companies that use pallets, crates and packaging in their business.
This wood is often disposed of at a landfill site but is still of a high quality and is perfectly good to reuse in other ways.
Being able to recycle wood is important and we therefore focus on separating it from the main waste stream. Once this has been achieved, the wood is transferred to a facility for wood chipping so that it can be recycled.
This material can then be transferred into wood chips and can be used on road maintenance. It can also be used to make chipboard.
